Police detain Vedike members for disrupting IBPS exams

Mangaluru: Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, Dakshina Kannada unit staged a protest demanding opportunity for Kannadiga in Regional Rural Banks.

When the protesters tried to disturb the IBPS examinations held to select personnel for banking sector at a college in Bondel, the Kavoor police detained several of them on Sunday.

Karnataka Rakshana Vedike district president Anil Das told Kannadigas should be given first prefrence in Regional Rural Banks (RRBs). Until 2014, candidates who studied in Kannada medium up to Class X used to get jobs in local banks but now the share of Kannadiga is reducing in the Regional Rural Banks (RRBs).

Karnataka Rakshana Vedike of Mangaluru unit Madhusudan Gowda, Women’s wing Lathashree Salian and others were present.
