Mangaluru: A surprise visit to the Taluk office in Mini Vidhana Soudha by an anti-corruption brigade took the Government employees by storm. A brigade of anti corruption activists barged into the offices and questioned the incompetence of some of the officials.
The members of ‘Forum for Corruption Free Karnataka’ took this initiative to create awareness among the officials to acknowledge them about the presence of an anti corruption squad which will keep an eye on them. The brigade of concerned citizens all wearing Gandhi topis (long boat shaped hats) noticed some chairs empty and questioned the others around.
Ravi Reddy, the President of the forum as well as District President K Harish inspected the office along with their comrades to find something out of order. They noted that there were no name plates on the tables of the civil servants nor were they wearing identification tags.
Ravi Reddy took appeals from few people outside the taluk office and said that he will build up the forum in the city. “This was just the beginning of something big. This move was more like a warning since we are going to have more volunteers in Mangaluru and target greater officials”, he said.
