Mangaluru: The officials of customs have arrested a man at the Mangaluru International Airport for illegally transporting foreign currency.
The man was transporting currency worth 25000 US Dollars on Wednesday March 30. The currency equivalent to Rs. 18.80 lakh was seized by the Customs officials from a man hailing from Mangaluru.
The arrested was apprehended when he was trying to smuggle out the currencies from India on Spice Jet Flight No. SG 59 to Dubai in his backpack.
Offence case has been registered.
