Bantwal: Three persons have been arrested by Bantwal police in connection with the recent murder case of Nasir in Melkar.
Vijith, Anish and Kiran from Manchi are the arrested and a search is on for another accused Abhijith who is absconding.

The operation was carried out by DCIB and Bantwal city police under the guidance of Bantwal circle inspector Belliyappa. Bantwal ASI Nandakumar said that the accused will be produced before court.

As the murder took place late at night it was difficult for the police to track the culprits. Police department quizzed rowdy sheeters and those who were involved in crimes but coud not get any clue. When they further investigated in various angles, they succeeded in nabbing three persons who allegedly took revenge on Nasir for the recent assault case in Salethur.

Mohammed Mustafa (37) had come to Melkar to see his relative, who was admitted in the hospital. On the way back to his house in Malady, he picked up his friend Nasir at Melkar. When they reached near the Shiva temple in Sajipamooda, four persons were allegedly waiting on two motorcycles around 11 p.m. Two of them stopped the auto rickshaw and sought direction for Kukkaje village. As Mustafa was explaining, they allegedly pulled the duo out of the auto rickshaw and assaulted them.

Nasir, who was badly injured on the head, died in the early hours of Friday in a private hospital in Mangaluru.
