Moodabidri: The new branch of Odiyoor Sri Multipurpose Cooperative Ltd has been inaugurated at Shashwat Complex, Vijay Nagar in Moodbidri on Monday, October 21.
Odiyoor Mutt pontif Shri Gurudevananda Swamiji inaugurated the branch and informed that no bank can survive without the support of its customers. “The shade of a tree covers huge space only if its branches are spread out. Likewise, Odiyooru multipurpose cooperative bank too can serve more if it’s branches grow,” he said.
Matanandamayi of Odiyoor Mutt, who is also a guide of Odiyooor cooperative Ltd congratulated the management board of Odiyoor cooperative Ltd for securing state-level award among the other cooperative societies.
Odiyoor Cooperative Ltd President A Suresh Rai, during his welcome speech explained the journey of Odiyoor cooperative society. “All 16 branches of Odiyoor cooperative ltd have been computerized and we have implemented an innovative auto insurance scheme for auto rickshaw drivers in Dakshina Kannada district. The insurance scheme has become a saviour of the members of the auto-rickshaw union,” he said.
Meanwhile, Todaru Diwakar Shetty received the first deposit letter, Jayashree received savings account passbook, Vilasini Gopal Shetty and Kanthappa Shetty received deposit letters from Swamiji.
Chief Executive Officer of Odiyoor Cooperative Ltd M Uggappa Shetty proposed vote of thanks and Lokesh Rai compered the programme. Moodbidri MLA Umanath Kotian and former minister Amarnath Shetty, Alva’s Group of Education Institution chairman Dr M Mohan Alva, building owner Dr.Vinay Hegde, managing trustee of Shri Venkatramana temple Umesh G Pai, entrepreneurs Meghanath Shetty, Gopal Shetty among others were present.
