Mangaluru: Shri Sripad Yesso Naik, Hon’ble Minister of State for Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Tourism visited New Mangalore Port on March 20, 2023, at 3 p.m. Upon his arrival at the Port, the Hon’ble Minister was welcomed by Dy. Chairperson, Shri K. G. Nath along with Senior officials of the Port.
The Hon’ble Minister oversaw the berth operations and various infrastructural facilities of the Port through a tug boat. Dy. Chairperson, NMPA, apprised the Minister about several infrastructural and technological advancements harnessed by the Port.
Hon’ble Minister was welcomed with a ceremonial guard of honour by CISF, NMPA Unit and a group of students from Srinivas University sang a welcome song on his arrival at the Administrative Office of NMPA.
This was followed by a meeting with the Senior Officials of the Port where he was briefed by Dy. Chairperson on the functioning of the Port and future plans as well as a host of initiatives undertaken to enhance Ease of Doing Business, Green Port Initiatives, future expansion programs, infrastructure projects and other proposals for enhancing the productivity of the Port.
The Minister appreciated the Port’s growth in cargo handling, operations, future plans & various initiatives of the Port to bring in environment-friendly state of art facilities.
