Bidar: Excise raid, liquor worth Rs 1.44 Lakh seized

Bidar: Excise Department Personnel conducted raids at various places in the District within a span of 24 hours and seized beer, adulterated liquor and two two-wheelers worth Rs. 1,44,521 in four cases.

Suryakanta Sampre, who was riding a two-wheeler at Chidri Cross in City, was arrested and 60,120 litres of liquor worth Rs. 35,444 and 23,400 litres of beer were seized.

When two-wheeler riders were stopped and checked in Aurad Town, adulterated liquor was found in eight plastic covers of black colour. The accused, Prabhu Vishwanath Koli and Sainath Vaijinath Uppara of Aurad, have been arrested and adulterated liquor has been seized.

The Excise Officials raided Jai Bhavani Chinese Centre at Ladavanti Village in Basavakalyan Taluk and seized 28,620 litres of liquor worth Rs 19,982 and beer worth Rs. 2,595. A case has been registered against Nagendra Venkatrao Patil of Ladavanthi.
