Mangaluru: Geetha (24), wife of Bhaskar, a resident of Goliyangadi near Venoor, gave birth to a baby boy in a 108 ambulance while she was being taken to the hospital.
She gave birth to the baby in a vehicle at around 2.57 pm as soon as she reached Padangadi amid efforts to bring her to the hospital in a 108 ambulance based on an emergency call.
It is an ambulance from Naravi Centre and Poornima, a health nurse, gave a timely response on the occasion. The driver Bhoodevappa too supported and responsed quickly.
Both the mother and child have been admitted to Belthangady Government Hospital after initial treatment. Both of them are now fine.
