Belthangady: A duster car ferrying four cows was seized by the police after a definite tipoff at Charamadi check post on October 26.
The car heading towards Belthangady from Chikkamagaluru was stopped at the check post in the early hours of morning on October 26. The occupants escaped under cover of darkness and the police seized the car, thereby rescued four cows.
Police registered a case after the incident.
Though the Central government has imposed strict guidelines for ferrying cows to slaughter houses, illegal animal transport is on the rise in recent times.
