Mangaluru: If Congress leaders are confident of gaining power in Manglauru Lok Sabha constituency, claiming that there is no Modi wave, BJP candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel admitted that there is no Modi wave this time as the wave has grown into a Modi Tsunami.
Speaking to the reporters at BJP’s election office on Tuesday, April 16, Nalin said “the Congress leaders have already accepted their defeat after observing the huge crowd that turned up at Nehru Maidan during Modi’s visit two days ago. The statements of the Congress leaders itself shows that they are frightened. When there were seven Congress MLAs and the BJP was in power in single Assembly constituency in the district, I had defeated Congress candidate with the huge margin of 1.43 lakh. Now the situation is totally different and we have seven MLAs and we will definitely win with the huge margin”.
Talking about his campaign, Nalin informed that he has completed four rounds of campaigning in his constituency, while BJP activists have conducted door-to-door campaigns.
When asked whether SDPI’s contest in the election would favour the BJP this time, Nalin said it won’t affect the BJP in any way. “When the SDPI was not in the fray, the Congress could not win in the previous election. Hence, SDPI’s contest really doesn’t matter to us, ” he said.
BJP leaders Gopalakrishna Herale, Ravishankar Mijar, Kishor Rai and R C Narayan were present.
