Mangaluru: A branch of a gigantic peepal tree at Karangalpady near Bunts’ Hostel fell off at about 2.30 pm, damaging a car and bike and also partially damaging three shops inside Karangalpady market, on Thursday evening. While, even an electric transformer fell under the branch, no body has been injured in the incident.
The fire personnel rushed to the spot on time and have started clearing off the branch. After the incident, local corporator D K Ashok, who represents Ward no 33 in the MCC and Municipal Commissioner Gopal Krishna visited the spot to take stock of the situation.
