PM to lay foundation for ‘City Gas’ scheme; Live telecast at Town Hall

Mangaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be laying the foundation stone for the ambitious ‘City Gas’ project today, November 22 at 4 PM at the Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. The project, which is being implemented by GAIL Gas Ltd. in 129 districts across the country, will see cooking gas being supplied to directly to each home.

The foundation laying ceremony will be live telecast in all the districts, including Mangaluru, that have been chosen for the project. The bidding for the implementation of the programme will also be inaugurated at the same time.

In honour of this monumental occasion, a programme has been organised at the Town Hall in Mangaluru today at 2.30 PM, after which there will be a live telecast of the foundation laying ceremony. Union minister Sadananda Gowda, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs Vedavyas Kamath and Dr Y Bharat Shetty and MCC Mayor Bhaskar K will be the chief guests of the event.
