Bengaluru: Prior to the general elections, the state’s BJP unit, on Wednesday released a list of conveners for the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka. Previously, they had made appointments in other states, but the announcement in Karnataka comes late due to the 2018 state assembly elections which followed the recent by-polls.
The state’s BJP President B S Yedyurappa and the head of the core committee have decided on the leaders for each constituency after long considerations while bearing in mind their party’s rule, which required the appointed leader to be an outsider to the constituency.
The leaders who were selected to be in each constituency are: K S Eshwarappa in Mysore, Sunil Kumar in Dakshina Kannada, Araga Jnanendra in Udupi-Chikkamagalur, Ashwathnarayana in Benagaluru central and rural, B H Krishna Reddy in Bengaluru North, Subba Narasimha in Bengaluru South, Jagadish Shettar in Bellary, Sriramulu in Koppal, C T Ravi in Hassan, Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri in Shimoga and Aravind Limbavali in Tumkur.
