Mangaluru: Stealing a few batteries may not seem like such a big crime, unless these are batteries that can cost lakhs of rupees, as it took place in the recent case where a man from Talapady was found to have stolen truck batteries, which made for an amount of 3.9 lakhs.

The accused has been identified as Riyaz Talapady, a resident of Kelagina Mane near Kaje in Talapady, who the police later arrested on confiscating his scooter and finding the stolen batteries.

The police team is now in the process of conducting operations, with city police commissioner Anupam Agarwal, DCP Siddharth Goyal and Dinesh Kumar, walking with them in the case.
