Bantwal: Investigations into the brutal murder of SDPI Ammunje zonal unit president Ashraf Kalayi on June 21 is making headway with the police taking five persons into custody in relation to the case.
The detained have been identified as Abhi, Shiva, Santhu, Ranjith and Pawan who are being interrogated.
The police will produce them in a court today seeking their custody.
Meanwhile, a tight vigil is being maintained by the police to ensure peace and stability in the region.
