Bantwal: The police have pulled up their socks after a skull was recovered from a laterite stone quarry on Sunday evening, at Kadanthabettu near Manchi village here.
The Bantwal Rural police are leaving no stone unturned to reach to he root of the mysterious case.
On Sunday evening, a local resident who had ventured into the forest to get fodder for the cattle spotted a pack of dogs digging out something. When he went closer, he saw a skull that remained dug out by the dogs. He informed the villagers, who in turn called the police.
Since it was dark, the police decided to carry forward the procedure on Monday.
Accordingly, Rural SI A K Rakshith Gowda and team visited the spot on Monday and conducted the Mahajar. Forensic Expert Dr Mahabalesh Shetty and fingerprint experts have visited the spot.
The forensic experts have claimed that the dead body must have been buried about nine months to one-year-ago and the body belongs to a man aged about 55 to 60 years. Samples have been sent to the Forensic lab to dig out more details.
