Mangaluru: With the Facebook head office in Bengaluru failing to respond to the queries of the police department in connection to derogatory remarks on Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari, the police department has decide to register a Suo moto case against the Facebook (FB), after obtaining permission from the court.
It may be recalled that derogatory remarks were posted on FB against the presiding deity of Kateel Temple on August 29 and while probing the case the Mangaluru police had sought some details from FB Bengaluru, to which the office did not respond. Three notices were reportedly served and none of the notices evoked any response from FB.
Now, with the social networking site office remaining tight-lipped, the department has decided to move ahead and booked case under Section 176 of the IPC.
