MANGALURU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to grace Mangaluru with his presence on April 14, where he will address the public at Gold Finch City, Bangrakulur at 3 pm. V Sunil Kumar, BJP State General Secretary and State Convener for the party’s Lok Sabha Management Committee, announced on Monday that the event is anticipated to draw over a lakh people, potentially surpassing past attendance records in the Dakshina Kannada district.
The PM’s visit is expected to ignite fervor among party workers, noted Kumar. Following Modi’s visit, from April 15 to 17, the party’s state president along with prominent leaders, including MLAs and candidates, will embark on a door-to-door campaign in districts slated for the first phase of polls in Karnataka.
Preceding this, on April 10 and 11, a booth-level Maha Prachar Abhiyan will mobilize party members across 58,000 booths statewide. The election campaign will center on the themes of ‘Surakshith Bharath’, ‘Samskrutika Bharat’, and ‘Vikasita Bharat’. Kumar emphasized that information about all developmental initiatives undertaken by the BJP-led government at the center will be disseminated to the people.
Highlighting recent developments, Kumar mentioned Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the state, where he inaugurated the initial phase of the election campaign. The subsequent phase will be amplified by Prime Minister Modi’s visit.
Responding to queries regarding Uttara Kannada MP Ananthkumar Hegde’s stance on supporting BJP candidate Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, Kumar assured unity within the party. He affirmed that Hegde would stand alongside Kageri during the nomination filing process.
