Kasargod: Twenty people were injured in a private bus-lorry collision that occured at Tekkil on the National highway on Wednesday.
One woman sustained serious injuries. They have been admitted in Mangaluru and Kasargod hospital.
The bus was plying to Kanhagad from Kasargod when it rammed into a container lorry at the junction. Over speeding by the bus is said to be the reason for the mishap.
Jameela(44) a passenger in the bus sustained serious injuries and has been admitted in a hospital in Mangaluru. Ibrahim(51), Mariambi(38), driver Narayana(45) from Neerchal, Shahima(22), cleaner Achyutha(51), Ibrahim(55), Savithri(40), Hussen(48), Ahmad(52), Abdulla(40) and Abdul Rahiman(45) and more than 20 persons were injured in the mishap.
Immediately after the mishap locals and police rushed to the spot. The mishap also caused a traffic jam for more than an hour on the highway.
