Mangaluru: Roshan D’Souza, a 38-year-old youth from Belman, has been chosen for this year’s prestigious Pingara Rajyothsava Award. His accomplishments may seem like a story, but the truth is that he is a real life hero who has touched lives and upheld humanity. This was announced by Award Committee Convener Roy Castelino during a press meet on 29 October at Hotel Woodlands.
In a span of a mere one year, Roshan managed to mobilise Rs 1.5 crore, all for the cause of his village, Belman and its people. Through his organisation named ‘Humanity’, Roshan has been going to generous donors for the cause of the people in genuine need of help.
The award will be conferred on Roshan on November 13 at Kudmul Ranga Rao Town Hall at 4 PM, by the new Bishop of Mangaluru, Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha.
While Kemaru Sandeepani Math Seer Sri Esha Vittaldas Swamiji will bless the occasion, MLA Vedavyas Kamath, former MLA J R Lobo, Award Committee Convener Roy Castelino, Co Convener Dharmdarshi Harikrishna Punarooru, SDPI State President Elias Mohammed Thumbe will be present.
