Bengaluru: It can be said to be another eventful day for Kannada actor Duniya Vijay as police arrived at his first wife, Nagarathna’s home on Sunday morning to arrest her on charges of assaulting his second wife Keerthi Gowda.
What ensued was a tense atmosphere as Nagarathna’s daughter, Monica refused to cooperate with the police and open the door, which led to Nagarathna’s escape. Police then confirmed that she was on the run and that they would send out search parties to nab her.
Previously, police had issued a warrant for Nagarathna who attacked Keerthi in Vijay’s house and proof of the incident was a CCTV footage showing her hitting Keerthi with a slipper on September 24, just around the time when Duniya Vijay and three of his associates were arrested for assaulting a gym instructor.
The fight between Nagarathna and Keerthi is reportedly for the custody of Vijay’s daughter Monica and according to reports, Vijay has appealed to Nagarathna to surrender the custody of their daughter.
Vijay even said that he and Keerthi had requested the police to not interfere in the matter as it would only cause a problem to Monica’s future. But Nagarathna has no such concern as she approached police officials in Girinagar and accused Keerthi of assaulting her.
Under orders of DCP of Bengaluru South, Annamalai K, police have taken up a suo moto case against Vijay and his family and also registered a case under Section 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons) against Nagarathna. They also summoned Vijay’s family and warned them against future misdemeanours.
Nothing is calm in Vijay’s life as just a week ago he was accused of assaulting his daughter Monica.
