Six more arrested in Deepak Rao’s murder

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Police Commissioner T R Suresh on January 24, confirmed the arrest of six more persons in connection with the Deepak Rao murder case, for criminal conspiracy and abetment taking the total arrests to 12.

The arrested are Mohammed Rafeeq alias Mango Rafeeq, Mohammed Anas, Mohammed Jaheed and Hidayathulla, all residents of Katipalla and Irfan and Imran Nawaz of Chokabettu Katipalla.

There are several criminal cases of attempt to murder, dacoity, theft and rape booked against the accused.

“All the accused were involved in criminal conspiracy and abetment,” police commissioner said.

It may be recalled that the police have already arrested six persons in connection with the murder of Deepak Rao.

The 32-year old youth Deepak Rao, a right-wing activist was brutally hacked to death by assailants who arrived in a car here at Samshuddin Circle in Katipalla on January 3
