Sullia: Superintendent of Police Bhushan Borase is surely showing another face of policing. While the people have always perceived boots and lathi to be the face of policing, the SP of Dakshina Kannada district has been showing the humane face of policing by simply visiting, interacting with the people in distress and making attempts to fulfill their demands.
On Sunday, after chairing the SC/ST grievances meet in Sullia, the SP headed to Kurunjigudde where several SC families have been living devoid of government facilities. The colony does not even have proper roads and to reach this colony on a hilltop, one has to climb up flight of uneven stairs.
Soon after K Gopal Kadumath brought the issue to the notice of the SP, the top cop and his team made it a point to visit the colony and meet the people and know about their problems.
The SP took out time to visit homes, interact with people and listen to their problems. Promising people to do what he can to solve to their problems, the SP returned leaving smiles on faces of the Koraga families who were certainly touched by the visit of the special guest.
In August 2016 too, the SP had surprised everyone by paying a visit to Atrinje of Sulkeri in Belthangdy taluk where Koragas have been living in pathetic conditions. The SP had come to know of this colony too during the SC/ST meet and soon, the SP was seen crossing a narrow hanging bridge over a gushing stream to reach Atrinje.
The SP over the time has won the hearts of the people through such gestures.
