Mangaluru: Close on the heels of an alleged threat by Sullia Sub-Inspector to activists raising slogans against Pakistan, Dakshina Kannada district Superintendent of Police has ordered an inquiry.

On Friday morning, a group of ‘Yuva Brigade’ activists and others carried out a march condemning the attack of terrorists on CRPF personnel in Pulwama district in Kashmir. During the protest march, the activists reportedly demanded bombing on Pakistan. Sensing possible trouble, PSI Manjunath stopped the protests and allegedly threatened of action if they continued to raise such slogans.

On knowing about the incident, Chakravarthy Sulibele of ‘Yuva Brigade’ tweeted questioning the conduct of PSI Manjunath. He also prompted the residents of Sullia to question PSI for his move through a posting in social media.

Considering the seriousness of the issue, Superintendent of Police, Lakshmi Prasad has asked the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Puttur, to submit a report on the issue after enquiring with both PSI and the protesters.

Lakshmi Prasad has assured of taking necessary action based on the report by the Deputy Superintendent of Police.
