Mangaluru: Lashing out at Chief minister Siddaramaiah for threatening the state constabulary of stern action if they go ahead with their mass leave protest plan on June 4, Senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary said that instead of threatening the constables who are going to stage a stir pressing for their rights, the CM must give them a patient hearing and try to solve their problems.
Addressing a news conference on Wednesday, June 1, Poojary said that the CM is only wasting time by holding high-level meets involving the IGs and DIGs, while he should actually speak to the constabulary.
“Top level officers don’t have any problem. It is the constables who are deprived of facilities and are facing discrimination in pay. The CM should spend a day with the constables and understand their feelings and their problems,” said Poojary
Speaking about Yettinahole project, Poojary said that the political leaders who are born and brought up in coastal region are the ones who are in a hurry to accomplish the detrimental project.
“Moily and Sadananda Gowda must stop speaking like Narendra Modi,” he said.
Lashing out at Modi over the hike in petrol rate and service taxes, Poojary questioned if this was the ‘Acche Din’ that Modi spoke of.
Former mayor Purushottam Chitrapura, T K Sudheer and others were present.
