Mangaluru: Minister for Urban Development and Housing and Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister U T Khader informed that a district-level ‘Revenue Adalath’ will be organised at the Deputy Commissioner’s office to rectify the problems related to land conversion and RTC (Record of Rights, Tenancy and Crop) on the spot, on November 12.
Addressing the media at the Circuit House on Tuesday, October 16, Khader said, “If there are small problems related to conversion of land and RTC, people can come and get them rectified on the spot. The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the district and revenue officials will be present in the adalath. Problems that require some modification of the documents, will be rectified within 45 days after the adalath,” he said.
“I have already instructed the DC to organise a taluk-level revenue adalath so as to rectify the problems. A committee will be formed in which the Assistant Commissioner (AC) and Thahasildars will convene the revenue adalath in taluk centers to solve the people’s land records related problems,” Khader added.
Khader to write a letter to PM and MOUD
Speaking about the slaughterhouse controversy, U T Khader informed that he will write a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs to find out whether there is a provision to modernise slaughterhouses under the smart city project. “As a priority should to be given to cleanliness, I proposed the modernisation of the slaughterhouse at Kudroli at the cost of Rs 15 crore. As the BJP leaders have been opposing the project, I have decided to write a letter to find out about the possibilities and to clear the confusion. As there is a demand to set up a Goushala (cow shelter) in the district, I will also include this in my letter to the Prime Minister. If there is a provision for the same, I am not against the setting up of a Goushala,” he clarified.
