The Department of English at St Aloysius University (Deemed to be University) organized the intercollegiate literary competition ‘KENSHO – to look within’ on March 11 in LF Rasquinha Hall, LCRI Block.
Prof Parinita, Chairperson of the Department of English at Mangalore University, graced the event as the chief guest. Fr Vincent Pinto, SJ, Finance Officer of the college, was the guest of honor, and Dr Denis Fernandes, Principal In-charge, presided over the function.
In her inaugural address, Prof Parinita emphasized the importance of introspection in a world often preoccupied with outward appearances. Dr Charles Furtado, Director of the Administrative Block, offered his felicitations.
Seventeen colleges from around the state and neighboring areas participated in various events, including theatre, debate, mock press, quiz, and murder mystery.
The valedictory ceremony took place in the LF Rasquinha Hall, with Dr Savil Uchil of Kasharp Fitness as the chief guest.
For theatre enthusiasts in Mangaluru, the department of English, in collaboration with Ranga Adhyana Kendra, will present a play titled ‘Manto’s Court’ on March 12 at 4:30 pm in LF Rasquinha Hall, LCRI Block. The play is an original production by the students of St Aloysius University based on some of the short stories of Saadat Hasan Manto.
