The convict Vasanth Sherigar, a resident of Muliya in Ajjavara village worked as daily wage worker at Harish’ house. When Harish’ new house construction work was underway, Padmavati also developed a relationship with Tipper driver Hithesh who used to come to unload mud. The convict got enraged by Padmavati and Hithesh’s affair, and allegedly murdered the duo when they were having sex.
