Mangaluru: Former minister B Ramanath Rai asked Mangaluru MP Nalin Kumar Kateel to speed up the four laning of National Highway 75 from Addahole to B C Road immediately instead of indulging in the baseless allegation.
Addressing the reporters at the district Congress office, Rai said, “The work on the four-lane between B C Road to Addahole is stopped and motorists and public are facing severe problems. The four laning work was started in 2017 and it needs to be completed within 30 months. However, as the contract company has stopped the work, it would not be completed at the stipulated period. It is said that the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) did not clear the bills of the contract company which was the cause for stopping work. The MP should immediately take all measures to ensure the work will start soon”, he said.
Rai also expressed his displeasure over the slow work on Pumpwell-Moodbidri highway. Instead of taking the issue seriously, the MP has been blaming state government for the slow pace of work, he said and urged to speed up the work.
Zilla Panchayat member Mamatha Gatti, District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai and other leaders Kodijal Ibrahim, Harish Rai among others were present.
