Mangaluru: The Mangaluru Traffic Police launched a special drive against the use of shrill horns in buses and seized 34 of them including a government bus on Monday, October 15.
This special drive was launched following repeated complaints from the general public about the shrill horns. The complaints also came in during the weekly phone programme of the City Commissioner of Police. Hence, a team of police headed by Traffic ACP Manjunath Shetty launched a special drive in this regard on Monday morning. Police seized a total of 34 buses including a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus.
Traffic ACP Manjunath Shetty when contacted told Newskarnataka that all the seized buses had already been handed over to the RTO for necessary action. Manjunath Shetty also informed that special drives would be launched frequently until the practice of using shrill horns in buses are stopped.
