Uppinangady: Man enters house to rob, falls asleep on sofa!

Uppinangady: In a bizarre incident, a man who gained entry into a house with the intention to rob the house fell asleep on a couch and subsequently handed behind bars when the owner of the house spotted him!

The incident took place in a house belonging to Sudarshan, a residence of Ullas Junction in Uppinangady, on Wednesday.

The trespasser identified as Anil Saini from Bihar had gained entry into the house removing the tiles on the ceiling.

House owner Sudarshan, in his statement to the police said that he was shocked to see the ceiling tiles missing and to find an unknown person fast asleep on the sofa.

Sudharshan woke Anil up by hitting him with a stick and handed him over to the police.

As per the police, Anil  had entered the house to rob, but he was too tired and he fell asleep, clinging on to a key that he had grabbed near the TV in the house.

It is said that Anil was in an inebriated state when he entered the house.The police are probing if he has been involved in any other theft cases. 

A case has been registered in the Uppinangady police station charging Anil with the attempt of theft.
