Bantwal: An incident where a traffic police man-handled a civilian for allegedly not abiding by the traffic rules reportedly occurred on Thursday, October 31.
A video of the incident has been shot, where the two people, alleged to be Melkar Traffic Police Station ASI and a civilian, are seen having a heated argument.
According to sources, the incident is said to have occurred in Guddeangadi, Melkar Junction, where the ASI was seen grabbing the civilian by his shirt collar and abusing him for allegedly neglecting the traffic rules.
The video has gone viral on social media, however, not much information is known about the incident. After the video went viral, social media platforms have been flooding with comments against the police department for its ‘aggressive’ nature.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police B M Lakshmiprasad has ordered the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Bantwal Sub Division to submit a detailed report about the incident.
