Kasargod: A youth from Manjeshwar was held for allegedly making hoax calls to police about a bomb being planted at the Kasargod railway station.
It is allegedly said that on Sunday September 28 the police control room received three phone calls saying that a bomb was planted at the railway station. The culprit had two SIM’s, through which he made the calls.
After receiving the calls, the bomb squad got into action and searched for about an hour however when they could not find anything they declared it as hoax.
The police had learnt that the calls were made from Mangalore, thus the Kasargod police arrived to Mangalore to investigate it further.
The cyber cell helped in tracing the culprit, although they have not detained the caller.
Inquiry is on and more details are awaited.
