Bhasker Shetty murder case: CID team may visit Udupi soon

Udupi: The district which hit headlines over sensational Bhasker Shetty murder case is now awaiting arrival of the CID team. The state government recently handed over the case to the CID following allegations from various quarters that the local police are siding with the accused.

Bhasker Shetty case: Three police teams begin investigation-1Speaking about the same Superintendent of Police K T Balakrishna said that the police team will hand over all the details collected over the last few weeks to the CID team on its arrival.

“We will not be probing into the case anymore. We will only assist the CID team,” said the SP adding that the team may arrive anytime.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, the court will decide on the plea by the police to collect the blood samples of Shetty’s mother Gulabi Shetty and his siblings for DNA test. Five accused including wife and son of Bhasker Shetty have been remanded to judicial custody till August 24.

While wife Rajeshwari has been shifted to Mangaluru Jail as there are no separate women’s cell in Hiriyadka jail, four others, including son Navaneeth have been kept in Hiriyadka jail.

Bhasker Shetty, a rich businessman from Saudi Arabia went missing on July 28. Later, it was learnt that he was murdered by his wife and son over unconfirmed reasons after collaborating with an astrologer named Niranjan Bhat.
