Udupi: The Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad activists were arrested by the police for trying to disrupt the Tipu Jayanti celebrations on Saturday, November 10.
Around 10 to 15 activists of the pro-Hindu organisations tried to barge into the highly secured Rajathadri, where Tipu Jayanti celebrations were going on, when they were stopped by the police. They raised slogans against the Tipu Jayanti celebrations and the state government.
All the activists trying to disrupt the celebrations were detained and taken into the nearby police vehicles that were on standby. Regional Convener of the Bajrang Dal (South), Sunil K R was immediately taken into custody for raising slogans against the state government and not allowed to speak to the media.
