Addressing the media persons at Press Club Udupi on Wednesday , Balaji Raghavendra Acharya said that there would be a peaceful agitation within the Constitutional framework. “The cow is the foundation of the nation and support of Hindu religion. Long time ago, there was a ban on cow slaughter. It would be our countrymen’s responsibility to save the cattle from slaughtering, illegal transportation and other atrocities”, he said.

We urge the union government to take stringent action against cattle thieves. The cattle transporters should be punished with five year imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1 Lakh. The state government should grow green grass for feeding cows and provide fodder at a lesser price.

Vilas Nayak, President of Udupi District VHP, Dinesh Mendon of Udupi Bajarang Dal, Jalancharu Raghupathy Tantri and Sunil K S R were present at the press meet.
