Udupi: Criticizing the state Congress government for allocating 11,000 crores for the development of Dalit communities under grant schemes, the BJP’s district S.C., S.T. Morcha led by Suresh Nayak staged a protest today near the Hutatma Smaraka in Ajjarakadu.
Hundreds of BJP workers shouted slogans against the Congress government. They expressed outrage, stating that by allocating funds meant for Dalit development to grant schemes, the state Congress government has treated the Dalits unfairly.
Uday Kumar Shetty, the Mangalore Division in-charge, spoke during the event and accused the Congress government of injustice towards Dalits by diverting the funds meant for them into grant schemes. He pointed out that corruption has begun in all departments, despite the Congress being in power for only two months in the state. He also mentioned that the B.B.M.P. pourakarmikas have filed mercy petitions due to commission torture and are facing a dire situation.
During this occasion, Suresh Nayak, the BJP district president, Kiran Kumar Kodgi, MLA, former MLA Raghupathi Bhat, Dinakar Babu, the head of Dainikar, Geethanjali Suvarna, and others were present.
