Udupi: The Udupi District Excise Department sleuths on Sunday December 20, seized 14,500 litres of liquor, which was being illegally transported from Goa at Heroor checkpost, Brahmavar.
The arrested is Raghavendra (26) a resident of Moodubelle.
According to the Excise officials, an Innova Car was being checked upon suspicion and the liquor was seized. There were no documents related to the transport of liquor. The seized liquor is pegged at Rs 13.50 lakh.
The operation was carried out by a team led by K Suresh Kumar under the guidance of Joint Commissioner of Mangaluru division for Excise, SL Rajendra Prasad on the direction of Excise DC KS Murali and DySP K Vinod Kumar.
