Vakwady/Kundapura: On the occasion of 11th anniversary celebrations of Gurukula Public School, awards were given away to the winners at the end of cultural extravaganza at Vakwady, Kundapura.
Dr. Ashajyothi Rai, Head of “Asare Charitable Trust” was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr. Rai in her address called upon the gathering to strive towards preserving our rich art and culture.
Quoting Rigveda, she said, education should reflect culture and remain the guiding light in children’s progress. She also quoted important verses from Bhagwad Gita to inspire children and inculcate good values during childhood. She cited Alexander and asked children should aim high in life to attain greater goals. Parents and teachers should not labour only for money, instead be the carriers for building values in society, she said.
Bhandya Educational Society’s Joint Managing Trustee Anupama S Shetty presided over the award distribution ceremony. She called upon the parents not to weaken children by showering excess affection and instead promote natural growth.
Another managing trustee K Subash Chandra Shetty too was present on the dais. Gurukul Pre University College Principal Channabasappa welcomed the gathering. Principal of Gurukul Public School Shaiju K R Nair introduced all the dignitaries on the dais. Sunanda patil delivered vote of thanks. Babitha Shetty anchored the award distribution ceremony to perfection.
