Udupi: The members of the Kharvi Community and Mogaveera Samaja in Hosapete surroundings of Trasi Gram Panchayat in Kundapura Taluk have demanded the development of Hosapete Crematorium adjacent to the Arabian Sea which is being used for the welfare of the deceased’s family members.
The Trasi-Hosapete Crematorium, which has been used by the local Kharvi Samaja and Mogaveera Samaja in Hosapete area of Trasi Village for more than 50 years, does not have electricity connection, forcing one to cremate body in the night.
The shore of the beach has been damaged due to sea erosion near the Hosapete Crematorium adjacent to the beach.
The construction of a compound around the cremation ground where cremation is carried out, most importantly, electricity connection has to be provided, tap water system with motor installation to use the well water has to be taken up, and road development work has to be done.
