‘Merger of Surathkal toll unscientific, Centre intervention sought’

Udupi: A meeting was held at Taluk Office Hall on Friday December 3 to discuss the problems arising out after the removal of Surathkal toll plaza on NH – 66 and merging the toll fee there with Hejamady toll plaza.

The meeting discussed on how the merger of Surathkal toll with Hejamady toll is unscientific. It was decided in the meeting to hold a meeting at the State Government level and submit the proposal to the Central Government. It was decided to implement the concessional facility given to public vehicles at Hejamady toll.

District In-Charge Minister S. Angara attended the meeting online.

Power, Kannada and Culture Minister V. Sunil Kumar, MLAs K. Raghupathi Bhat, Lalaji R. Mendon, State Backward Classes Commission Chairman Jayaprakash Hegde, Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao M., Superintendent of Police Hakay Akshay Machindra, Additional Deputy Commissioner Veena and other officials were present.
