Udupi: As the SSLC examinations began on Monday March 28, Udupi BJP MLA Raghupathi Bhat said that the situation in Udupi is peaceful.
He said that students in government schools are removing Hijab before appearing for the exams and those in private schools are going to their schools wearing Hijab as per the Government’s permission.
Earlier, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai encouraged students to take the exams without fear, saying that all necessary preparations had been undertaken. Education Minister B. C. Nagesh urged SSLC students to “shed their egos and take up examinations as mandated by the State Government.”
In Dakshina Kannada
The situation in Dakshina Kannada District during SSLC exam was peaceful as well. Over 29,712 students have registered for the exams which is being held in 99 examination centres.
A total of 1,489 classrooms have been prepared for the exam. Two vehicles have been arranged in Talapady for the benefit of Kerala students studying in DK. According to the DDPI, there would be a hartal in Kerala on Monday and Tuesday.
