Udupi: In a shocking incident, a tempo driver, who was driving under the influence of alcohol, crushed two two-wheelers under his vehicle and created a ruckus on the streets at Beedinagudde on the night of Thursday January 26.

Dinesh, a resident of Kukkikatte, was on his way to Diana from Beedinagudde in his tempo when he was driving the vehicle near the Circle. He scolded the biker for questioning this.

In a fit of rage, the biker slapped Dinesh, who got angry and drove his tempo on top of the bike. The biker and his co-rider immediately left the bike and jumped off. At the same time, another bike fell under the tempo.

When the drunk tempo driver was driving his vehicle back, five to six people, including a woman standing there, ran away and saved their lives. The City Police, who rushed to the spot, took the tempo driver into custody.
