Udupi: Child labourers rescued from Malpe Port

Yogi govt launches campaign to check child labour

Udupi: The District Administration led an early-morning operation at the Malpe Port on Thursday November 3 in which 16 minors who had been working there were saved.

Zilla Panchayat, the Departments of Women and Child Development, Labour, Social welfyare, Education, Police, Udupi City Municipal Council, Child Helpline, and Nagarika Seva Trust all worked together to conduct the operation.

All of the rescued kids, including 11 girls, were from the Districts of Koppal and Davanagere. According to the officials, the children have been handed to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), where arrangements have been made for their rehabilitation.
