Udupi: The Commissioner of the City Municipality Council (CMC), Rayappa, announced plans for Udupi city municipality to transition to a completely paperless office within the next three months. His remarks were made during a face-off program organized by the Udupi Consumers Forum, which brought together governmental officials and people’s representatives.
Rayappa highlighted Udupi’s esteemed reputation among the 28 city municipality councils in the state for its effective financial management, boasting an annual revenue generation of approximately Rs 40-45 crore from various sources.
The program was inaugurated by Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna, who praised the Consumer Forum for its efforts in spreading awareness among the public. He emphasized the need for governmental departments to address staff shortages and ensure dedicated working hours for elderly citizens.
MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty of Kaup constituency emphasized the increasing reliance on online platforms for government work, urging individuals to adapt to technological advancements. He stressed the importance of positive thinking in bringing about administrative changes.
The meeting also saw the participation of Gururaj, Tahsildar Ganaraj Bhat, MESCOM engineer, and former convener AP Kodancha, with Harikrishna Shivattaya serving as the compere.
