Udupi: Residents of Kavadi Village under Vaddarse Gram Panchayat of Brahmavar Taluk have complained that a person has grabbed the land allotted to the Koragas.

Speaking to mediapersons here, the aggrieved Koraga residents said that 10 Koraga families have been allotted one acre of land each at Manamballi in Kavadi Village under Vaddarse Gram Panchayat limits of Brahmavar Taluk and the development of drinking water, roads and electricity works related to rehabilitation will be done through the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) Department. At present, 15 families live in that place. A man has encroached upon the irrigation well allotted to the group and fenced the road on which the locals roam.

As this has created problems for the Koraga families here, they have demanded that the encroachments be removed at the earliest.
