Mysuru: The 28th Annual Convocation of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD) is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at the Institute Campus. L. Ganesh, Chairman and Managing Director, Rane Holdings will be the Chief Guest for the Convocation and will deliver the Convocation Address.
Dr D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala, and the Chairman, Governing Board of SDMIMD, Mysuru, will preside over the Convocation function. The Governing Board Members of the Institute will be gracing the occasion.
During Convocation, the Institute will be awarding the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) to the eligible students of the Batch 2021-2023. Further, students who have excelled in Specialization areas will be receiving the Gold Medals from the Convocation Chief Guest L. Ganesh. In addition, there will be two more coveted awards the Chairman’s Gold Medal for overall best academic performance and the Ankur Gupta Memorial Gold medal for Overall Best performance.
Dr N. R. Parasuraman, Director of the Institute, will be presenting the Annual Report stating the activities and achievements of the Institute during the academic year 2022-23.
Profile of the Chief Guest
L Ganesh (LG) is the Chairman and Managing Director of Rane Holdings Limited and the Chairman of the Rane Group of Companies. LG is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA from the Pennsylvania State University, USA.
He has over 45 years of Industry experience and has played a key role in establishing strong footprint in global markets and winning the coveted Deming award. At the national level, LG has been an articulate spokesman for the automotive industry through his involvement with various bodies.
He was the President of Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India and the President of Madras Management Association. He was the Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Southern Region. Presently, he is an Honorary Consul for New Zealand in South India.
In addition to being a Director in Rane group of Companies, LG serves as an Independent Director in Sundaram Finance Limited. LG is also the Chairman of Chennai Willingdon Corporate Foundation and Chennai Heritage.
