Udupi: In a shocking incident, a man resorted to suicide in Byndoor after his wife became unwell and also as he had debts.
The deceased has been identified as Gopal (48), a resident of Vidyanagar Degree College in Byndoor Taluk of the District.
The couple has started building a new house and work had slowed down due to cash constraints. Around Rs 7 to 8 lakh was deposited in banks and societies for the construction of the house. He repeatedly has been telling his wife Susheela that he was on loan, and constructing a house needed more money. As his wife Susheela Mogaveera also suffered from ill health and bedridden he went into depression.
A case has been registered at Byndoor Police Station.
