Udupi: Due to drinking water problem and lack of development of roads in Soni Kelsaoni area under Siddapura Gram Panchayat limits of Byndoor Constituency, the villagers have put up a banner boycotting the upcoming elections in mass.

The mud road, which is more than one-and-a-half kilometres long, is filled with slush during the rainy season and thus it is difficult for the people of the area to travel on the slush-filled road for three months during the rainy season.

The villagers had submitted a series of representations to the local panchayat, including the MLA, to develop the road, but so far no steps have been taken to develop the road.
