Udupi: The road development work has been going on for the past two months under the MLA-funded scheme in Bennegere area of Gujjadi Gram Panchayat of Byndoor Assembly Constituency.
Residents of Bennegere in Gujjadi village faced drinking water problem after a JCB machine broke the drinking water pipeline going to Bennegere while digging up the old road and making a new one.
The locals came to the Gujjadi Gram Panchayat office and staged a sit-in protest against the contractors who were executing the road work, demanding drinking water.
